Xiexiehuang lao shi!

I got into contact with Tai Chi through a Chinese friend. Due to my interest in Buddhism, I already had contact with the topics of meditation and inner peace. At this time my personal impression was, that I was generally in a relaxed state of mind and body. My Chinese friend already had some experience with Tai Chi and disagreed. After about half a year of learning, I can say that Tai Chi has changed my life even more for the better. My body is much more relaxed. The shoulders and hips in particular are much looser. My general fitness and vitality have improved tremendously. My attitude towards life has changed. I am happier and feel lighter. Persevering the various postures trained my willpower. Due to the posture corrections by teacher Huang, many positions feel comfortable now and I can feel a harmonious flow of energy in the body. This leads to the effect that my hands are no longer cold even in winter. I haven't had a serious cold in the past six months, even over the harsh northeastern Chinese winter. My body awareness and understanding of Tai Chi has changed, especially due to the intensive 5-day course during the May holidays. During some exercises I can now feel how heat energy collects in the lower abdominal area. Due to break from teaching during the Chinese Spring Festival, I learned and practiced independently on the basis of videos. That soon led to knee pain. It was only through the supervision of Teacher Huang that I noticed my posture errors and can now practice without subsequent pain.  According to the motto "learning by doing", my Chinese has also improved through attending the course and I have also been able to learn some useful local terms such as, "打太极拳真得劲儿 Chi" (Tai-Chi is really pleasant) and "身体板正多了。“(The body is in rank and file). Teacher Huang also taught me a lot about Chinese culture. For example, making sure that the teacher always has enough and fresh tea is a common custom and virtue in China. For a person with a western cultural background who is strongly individualistic, this way of thinking in the various roles and relationship levels according to Confucius is unusual. Buddhism is for the wisdom of the heart, Tai-Chi is for the body and mind and Confucius is for living together. For my mind, my body and my life in China, all three components are essential, interact with one another, permeate one another and are basically one.  From my perspective Teacher Huang's teaching takes up exactly this philosophy. Thanks to his many years of experience, he can effectively convey this philosophy and the core of Tai Chi. In my case this has already led to a rapid learning progress.Xiexiehuang lao shi!
